Գիտնականները պնդում են, որ մարդիկ կկարողանան ամբողջությամբ վերականգնել կորցրած տեսողությունը խխունջների շնորհիվ

ԱՄՆ-ի Կալիֆոռնիայի համալսարանի գիտնականները առաջին անգամ վերծանել են, թե ինչպես է ոսկեգույն խնձորի խխունջը վերականգնում իր կորցրած աչքերը և պարզել, որ նրա տեսողական օրգանները զարմանալիորեն նման են մարդկանց: Աշխատանքը հրապարակվել է Nature Communications (NatCom) ամսագրում:

Մարդու աչքերը չափազանց բարդ օրգան են, որը գրեթե անհնար է վերականգնել: Սակայն քաղցրահամ ջրերի խխունջ Pomacea canaliculata-ի, որը հայտնի է նաև որպես ոսկեգույն խնձորի խխունջ, մոտ ամեն ինչ այլ է. այն կարողանում է ամբողջությամբ վերականգնել կորցրած աչքը՝ ցանցաթաղանթով, ոսպնյակով և նույնիսկ տեսողական նյարդով:

«Խնձորի խխունջները բացառիկ արարածներ են», - ասել է ուսումնասիրության առաջատար հեղինակ, մոլեկուլային և բջջային կենսաբանության դոցենտ Ալիս Ակկորսին: «Դրանք եզակի հնարավորություն են տալիս ուսումնասիրել բարդ զգայական օրգանի ամբողջական վերականգնումը»:

Աշխատանքի ընթացքում նրա թիմը ցույց է տվել, որ մարդկանց և խխունջների աչքերի զարգացման համար պատասխանատու կառուցվածքը և գեները մեծ մասամբ նույնն են: Ավելին, նրանք առաջին անգամ խխունջի մոտ օգտագործել են CRISPR/Cas9 գենոմի խմբագրման մեթոդը և անջատել են pax6 գենը, որը աչքի բանալին է: Ինչպես մարդկանց մոտ, դրա մուտացիան հանգեցրեց աչքերի լիակատար կորստի խխունջի սաղմերի մոտ։

Աչքի անդամահատումից հետո խխունջին մոտ մեկ ամիս է պահանջվում այն վերականգնելու համար։ Առաջին օրվա ընթացքում վերքը լավանում է, ապա ոչ մասնագիտացված բջիջները տեղափոխվում են վնասվածքի վայր։ Մեկուկես շաբաթ անց սկսում են ձևավորվել աչքի կառուցվածքները, և 15-րդ օրը հայտնվում են բոլոր հիմնական տարրերը՝ ներառյալ տեսողական նյարդը։ Այնուամենայնիվ, դրանք շարունակում են հասունանալ առնվազն ևս երկու շաբաթ։

«Անատոմիական առումով նոր աչքը անզանազանելի է հինից», - ընդգծեց Ակկորսին։

Դեռևս պարզ չէ, թե արդյոք խխունջները կարողանում են տեսնել իրենց վերականգնված աչքերով, ինչպես նախկինում, գիտնականները պլանավորում են մշակել վարքային թեստ՝ դա պարզելու համար։

Թիմի հաջորդ նպատակն է պարզել, թե արդյոք pax6-ը ներգրավված է ոչ միայն աչքերի զարգացման, այլև դրանց վերականգնման մեջ։ Եթե այո, և եթե նմանատիպ գեները առկա են նաև մարդկանց մոտ, դա կարող է բացել դռները մարդկանց մոտ տեսողությունը վերականգնելու մեթոդների համար։

«Մենք հույս ունենք, որ խխունջների վերականգնման մեխանիզմի հասկացումը կօգնի ակտիվացնել նմանատիպ գործընթացներ մարդկանց մոտ», - եզրափակեց Ակկորսին։
