Ցլերը «դալտոնիկ» են, նրանք կարմիր գույնից կատաղել չեն կարող

Ցլերը կատաղում են կարմիր գույնից: Օրինակ, դա ակնառու երևում է ցլամարտի ժամանակ, երբ ցլամարտիկը (մատադորը) թափահարում է կարմիր կտորը, որից ցուլը կատաղում է և հարձակվում:

Իրականում այդպես չէ:

Պարզվում է, որ ցուլը, ինչպես նաև գետաձին, բուն, այլ կենդանիներ գույները չեն տարբերում: Ցլամարտի ժամանակ ցուլը կատաղում է ոչ թե մատադորի կարմիր կտորից, այլ այդ կտորի սպառնալից շարժումից և, առավել ևս, հանդիսատեսի ձայներից: Պետք է հաշվի առնել նաև այն, որ ցլամարտի համար հատուկ էլ տորո–բրավո (թարգմանաբար խիզախ–ցուլ) տեսակի ցլեր են բուծում: Այս տեսակի ցլերը խիստ ագրեսիվ են, ջղային, շարժուն, բայց զուրկի են խելքից, և այդ իսկ պատճառով նրանց գործողությունները լրիվ կանխատեսելի են: Կաթնասունների աչքի ցանցաթաղանթը կազմված է երկու տիպի ֆոտոռեցեպտորներից՝ ցուպիկներից և շշիկներից: Ցուպիկները հնարավորություն են տալիս տեսնել առարկաների չափերը և ձևը, իսկ շշիկները` գույները: Մարդու և կապիկների մոտ շշիկների քանակը աչքի ցանցաթաղանթում շատ է, որը հնարավորություն է տալիս տարբերակել գույները: Իսկ ահա, օրինակ, կճղակավորների մոտ շշիկները այնքան քիչ են, որ նրանք գույները չեն տարբերակում, քանի որ նրանց կյանքում գույները մեծ նշանակություն չունեն: Բացի այդ, գիտնականները համարում են, որ ցուլը ոչ միայն աշխարհը տեսնում է սև–սպիտակ, այլ նաև նա կարճատես է: Ստացվում է, որ կտորի շարժումը նրանք ընդունում են որպես անտեսանելի թշնամու կողմից մարտահրավեր և համապատասխան ռեակցիա են տալիս՝ հարձակվելով: Գիտնականները փորձ են կատարել՝ ցուլի առջև կանգնեցրել են կարմիր և սև հագնված երկու մարդու, ընդ որում՝ սև հագածը սկսել է վազել, ցուլը ընկել է նրա հետևից՝ ուշադրություն չդարձնելով կարմիր հագուստով մարդուն: Ցլամարտը (իսպաներեն կորիդա բառացիորեն նշանակում է «փախչել») ունի շատ հին պատմություն: Ամենայն հավանականությամբ, այն սկիզբ է առնում բրոնզե դարից: Ստեղծողները եղել են իբերացիները, ովքեր բնակվում էին ժամանակակից Պիրենեյան թերակղզու տարածքում: Ցլամարտի ծագումը կապվում է որոշակի պաշտամունքային ավանդույթների հետ։ Հավանաբար ցլերի սպանությունը եղել է իբերական որոշակի ծիսակատարություն: Նմանատիպ ծիսակատարությունները տարածված են եղել նաև հին Եվրոպայի մի շարք միջեկրածովյան ազգերի, մասնավորապես՝ հին հույների շրջանում: Ի դեպ, կորիդայի ժամանակ գերակշռող գույնը կարմիրն է: Համարվում է, որ դա առաջացել է ոչ պատահաբար: Հարցն այն է, որ ցուլի արյունը այդպես ավելի քիչ է տեսանելի դառնում: Ստացվում է, որ կարմիր գույնը կորիդայում նպատակաուղղված է ոչ թե ցլերին զայրացնելուն, այլ հանդիսատեսին հանգստացնելուն, քանի որ այդ կերպ մարդիկ ավելի հանգիստ են ընդունում ցլի սպանությունը: Մյուս կողմից, վառ գույնն ավելի տպավորիչ է, ավելի լավ է հեռվից երևում և այլն: Համարվում է, որ մոլորությունը, թե ցուլը կատաղում է կարմիր գույնից, առաջացել է 1580–ականներին, քանի որ այդ ժամանակ է հայտնի դրամատուրգ Ջոն Լիլին գրել, որ փղի առջև պետք է կանգնել ոչ վառ գույնի հագուստով, իսկ ցլի առաջ՝ ոչ կարմիր հագուստով:

Ի դեպ, պարզվում է, որ շները տարբերակում են միայն դեղին և կապույտ գույները, այսինքն՝ լուսացույցով կարգավորվող խաչմերուկում կույրին ուղեկցող շունը իրականում կողմնորոշվում է ոչ թե լուսացույցի գույնով, այլ տրանսպորտային հոսքի ձայնով: Կարմիր գույնից կատաղում են հավի ճտերը: Բավական է մեկ ճուտիկի մոտ արյան կաթիլ հայտնվի, մնացածն սկսում են կտցել նրան: Այս երևույթը խիստ վտանգավոր է, քանի որ թռչնաֆաբրիկայում այն կարող է բերել շղթայական ռեակցիայի և արդյունքում ճուտիկների գլխաքանակի անկման:
