Վրաստանի վարչապետ Իրակլի Կոբախիձեն Եվրամիությանն անդամակցելն անվանել է երկրի գլխավոր առաջնահերթությունը։ Միաժամանակ, նրա խոսքով, Վրաստանը շահագրգռված է տարբեր երկրների, այդ թվում՝ Ռուսաստանի հետ «նորմալ հարաբերություններով»։ Վրաստանի վարչապետն ընդգծել է, որ Թբիլիսին և Մոսկվան պահպանում են առևտրային գործընկերությունը։ Այս մասին գրում է kommersant.ru-ն:

«Մեր հիմնական առաջնահերթությունը Եվրամիության անդամ երկիր դառնալն է: Մենք որոշակի մարտահրավերներ ունենք այս ուղղությամբ, բայց հուսով ենք, որ խաղաղության վերականգնմամբ մեր երկրում և տարածաշրջանում, հատկապես Ուկրաինայում, Վրաստանի ինտեգրումն ավելի ինտենսիվ կիրականացվի: Մենք հույս ունենք և ակնկալում ենք դրական զարգացումներ», - ասել է Կոբախիձեն «Գործընկերությունը բազմաբևեռության դարաշրջանում» պանելային քննարկման ժամանակ:

Նա նշել է, որ Վրաստանը, որն ավանդաբար հանդես է գալիս այլ երկրների հետ հարաբերություններում խաղաղության հաստատման օգտին, նույն մոտեցումն է ցուցաբերում Ռուսաստանի նկատմամբ։ «Մենք չունենք դիվանագիտական ​​հարաբերություններ Ռուսաստանի Դաշնության հետ, բայց միևնույն ժամանակ մենք ինտենսիվ տնտեսական քաղաքականություն ենք վարում և առևտրային գործընկերություն ունենք Ռուսաստանի Դաշնության հետ», - նշել է Վրաստանի վարչապետը։

Վրաստանը, որը ԵՄ-ի թեկնածուի կարգավիճակ է ստացել 2023 թվականի դեկտեմբերին, կասեցրել է միությանը միանալու բանակցությունների մեկնարկը մինչև 2028 թվականը։ Իշխող «Վրացական երազանք» կուսակցության այս որոշումը բողոքի նոր ալիք է բարձրացրել երկրում։ Իրակլի Կոբախիձեն հայտարարել է, որ մինչև 2030 թվականը Վրաստանը «տնտեսապես պատրաստ կլինի» անդամակցել Եվրամիությանը։
