Արաբկիրի համայնքային ոստիկանները բացահայտել են գողություններն ու գողության փորձը: Հայտնում է ՆԳՆ ոստիկանությունը:

Առաջին ահազանգը ստացվեց փետրվարի 9-ին: Կեսօրին մոտ զանգած տղամարդը հայտնում էր, որ մոտ մեկուկես ժամ առաջ կոտրել են մայրաքաղաքի Գյուլբենկյան փողոցում գտնվող իր խանութ-սրահի դռան բռնակը: Արաբկիրի համայնքային ոստիկանները մեկնեցին խանութ և պարզեցին, որ պատճառվել է միայն գույքային վնաս, իսկ խանութ մտնել չի հաջողվել:
Արդեն հաջորդ օրը ստացվեց ևս մեկ ահազանգ: Փետրվարի 10-ի առավոտյան ժամը 5.30-ին ՊՊԳՎ Արաբկիրի պահպանության բաժնի ծառայողները հայտնաբերել էին, որ կոտրված է Մամիկոնյանց փողոցում գտնվող խանութի դուռը: Սեփականատերը տվեց հաղորդում, որ այս անգամ կա նաև նյութական վնաս. գողացել էին տարատեսակ ծխախոտեր:
Իրավապահները միայն հետո պիտի ճշտեին, որ այս երկու հանցադեպերը, ինչպես նաև ավելի ուշ գրանցված գողությունը նույն անձի գործն է:
Իսկ հաջորդ ահազանգը փետրվարի 20-ին էր: Գիշերվա ժամը 4-ին բարեխիղճ մի քաղաքացի զանգել էր ոստիկանություն և հայտնել, որ հենց այդ պահին Կոմիտասի պողոտայում խանութից գողություն է կատարվում:
Արաբկիրի համայնքային ոստիկանները հնարավորինս արագ մեկնեցին դեպքի վայր, սակայն գողն արագ էր գործել: Ավելի ուշ խանութի անվտանգության աշխատակիցը տվեց հաղորդում, որ տեխնիկական միջոցի գործադրմամբ կոտրել են էլեկտրական ծխախոտի խանութի մուտքի դուռը և գողացել մեկ միլիոն 400 հազար դրամի ծխախոտ:
Նախաձեռնվեց քրեական վարույթ, որի շրջանակում դեպքի վայրում կատարվեցին անհրաժեշտ գործողություններ, իսկ Արաբկիրի համայնքային ոստիկանների օպերատիվ-հետախուզական միջոցառումներն արդյունք տվին երկու օր անց:
Փետրվարի 22-ին, առավոտյան ժամը 10-ին մոտ, Կոտայքի մարզի Ջրվեժ գյուղում հայտնաբերվեց, գողություններ և գողության փորձ կատարելու կասկածանքով ձերբակալվեց և Արաբկիրի բաժին տեղափոխվեց Երևանի Մոլդովական փողոցի բնակիչ 55-ամյա տղամարդը:
