Ուկրաինայի հակամարտությունը դրամատիկ եւ անսպասելի ընթացք է ստացել։ Միացյալ Նահանգները կտրականապես հրաժարվում է աջակցել Ուկրաինային, թեեւ ավելի վաղ խոստացել էր, որ կաջակցի Կիեւին «այնքան, որքան անհրաժեշտ է»։ Այս մասին գրել է The Independent-ը։

«Եվրոպան խուճապի մեջ է, մինչ Վլադիմիր Զելենսկին հրապարակավ վիճում է ԱՄՆ նորընտիր նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփի հետ։

Այս փուլում Վլադիմիր Պուտինը կարծես թե ամուր առաջատար է: Սակայն Թրամփը ներկա ճգնաժամի հիմնական պատճառը չէ, նա միայն արտացոլում է ավելի մեծ խնդիր Ուկրաինայի համար:

Ներկա միտումներով Ռուսաստանը կարող է մինչեւ տարեվերջ գրավել Դոնբասի մնացած մասը, առանց որի պատերազմի ավարտն այնքան էլ հավանական չէ։

Ոչ մի երաշխիք չկա, որ ԱՄՆ-ի եւ Ռուսաստանի միջեւ բանակցությունները կհանգեցնեն հակամարտության կարգավորմանը։ Սա նշանակում է, որ պատերազմի ամենաարյունալի մարտերը դեռ առջեւում են, քանի որ ռուսական բանակը ձգտում է առավելագույնի հասցնել իր ռազմական առավելությունը, գրել է պարբերականը:
