1988 թվականի այս օրը տեղի ունեցած ավերիչ երկրաշարժը խոր ցավի մեջ թողեց մեր հայրենիքը՝ խլելով տասնյակ հազարավոր անմեղ կյանքեր, ավերելով քաղաքներ ու գյուղեր, բայց երբեք չկոտրելով մեր ժողովրդի ոգին։

Ամեն զոհի պատմություն մի ընտանեկան ողբերգություն է, մի կորսված ապագա։ Բայց այդ ցավի մեջ մենք գտանք ուժ՝ վերակառուցելու, հույս տալու և ապագայի հավատով առաջ շարժվելու։

Այսօր մեր աղոթքները նրանց համար են, ովքեր այլևս մեզ հետ չեն, և նրանց համար, ովքեր ապրում են այդ ցավն իրենց սրտերում կրելով, որպես անհատական ու ազգային վերքեր, որոնք երբեք լիովին չեն բուժվում։

Թող նրանց հիշատակը մեզ ուժ տա ամեն դժվարություն հաղթահարելու և միասին կերտելու մի ապագա, որտեղ Հայաստանն ուժեղ է և պատրաստ դիմակայելու, հաղթահաարելու ցանկացած արհավիրք և փորձություն։
