2008-ի այս օրը մեր տարածաշրջանն «եռում» էր. վրաց-օսական պատերազմի բռնկումը սպառնալիք էր նաև Հայաստանի համար: Ակնհայտ էր,որ պարենային անվտանգության ապահովումը մեր երկրի համար վտանգված էր: Այդ նույն օրը Պեկինում մեկնարկել էին օլիմպիական խաղերը, ՀՀ նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանը ևս Չինաստանում էր: Ասում են , ստանալով վրաց-օսական պատերազմի մասին լուրը, Սարգսյանը անմիջապես կապ է հաստատում Իրանի նախագահ Ահմադինեջադի հետ և խնդրում Հայաստանին տրամադրել անհրաժեշտ չափի վառելիք և պարենամթերք: Բարեկամ Իրանի նախագահն առանց երկմտելու իր պատրաստակամությունն է հայտնում աջակցելու իր ընկերոջն ու եղբայրական Հայաստանին: Այս թեմային անդրադարձա,որպեսզի որոշ հակապետական ու ապազգային արարածեր հասկանան,որ պետության անվտանգության ապահովումն ու միջպետական հարաբերությունները լայվերով ու հեծանիվ քշելով չի լինում:
Սերժ Սարգսյանն ուներ այնքան վստահիւթյուն ու ըմբռնում իր գործընկերոջ մոտ,որ նույնիսկ մեկ հեռախոսազանգով լուծում էր Հայաստանի պարենային անվտանգության խնդիրը։
Դա նաեւ նրանից էր,որ Սերժ Սարգսյանն իր ցանկացած աշխարհաքաղաքական որոշում իրականխցնելիս հաշվի էր առնում նաեւ մեր հարեւան ու բարեկան Իրանի շահը։
Իսկ Փաշինյանը համառորեն չէր լսում Իրանի հորդորները տարծաշրջան չբերել արեւմտյան ուժերի ու ԵՄ դիտորդներին բերեց ՀՀ։
