Հարավային Կովկասում Ռուսաստան-հավաքական արևմուտք հակամարտությունը դրսևորվում է մասնավորապես հյուսիս-հարավ ու արևելք-արևմուտք տրանսպորտային միջանցքների նկատմանբ իրենց հակառակ դիրքորոշումներով. Մինասյան

Հարավային Կովկասում Ռուսաստան-հավաքական արևմուտք հակամարտությունը դրսևորվում է մասնավորապես հյուսիս-հարավ ու արևելք-արևմուտք տրանսպորտային միջանցքների նկատմանբ իրենց հակառակ դիրքորոշումներով: Եթե Ռուսաստանի համար կենսական նշանակություն ունի Իրանով դեպի Հնդկական օվկիանոս հասնող Հյուսիս-Հարավ ծրագրի իրականացումը, ապա հավաքական արևմուտքը փորձում է խափանել այդ ծրագրի իրականացումը կամ իր վերահսկողության տակ պահել այն երկրները, որոնցով անցնելու է այդ միջանցքը: Նմանապես եթե հավաքական արևմուտքի համար չափազանց կարևոր է Ռուսաստանն ու Իրանը շրջանցող ու հարավային Կովկասով անցնող արևելք-արևմուտք ծրագրի միջին միջանցքի իրականացումը ապա Ռուսաստանը փորձում է խափանել դա, կամ իր վերահսկողության տակ պահել այն երկրները, որոնցով անցնելու է այդ միջանցքը:
Միաժամանակ էական առանձնահատկություններ ունեն Հայաստանի ու Վրաստանի դիրքորոշումների կարևորությունները արևելք-արևմուտք ծրագրի միջին միջանցքի և Հայաստանով ու Վրաստանով անցնող հյուսիս-հարավ ծրագրի արևմտյան միջանցքի իրականացման առումով քանի որ.
-արևելք-արևմուտք ծրագրի միջին միջանցքի իրականացնելու համար անհրաժեշտ է առնվազն կամ Հայաստանի կամ Վրաստանի դրական վերաբերմունքը, իսկ այդ ծրագիրը խափանելու համար միաժամանակ և Հայաստանի և Վրաստնի ոչ դրական վերաբերմունքը,
-հյուսիս-հարավ ծրագրի արևմտյան ճյուղի իրականացման համար անհրաժեշտ է և Վրաստանի և Հայաստանի դրական վերաբերմունքը, իսկ խափանելու համար կամ Վրաստանի կամ Հայաստանի ոչ դրական վերաբերմունքը:
Այսինքն նշված ծրագրեիր առումով իրենց նպատակները իրականացնելու համար եթե հավաքական արևմուտքին բավարար է կամ Վրաստանի կամ Հայաստանի պրոարևմտյան դիրքորքշումը, ապա Ռուսաստանին անհրաժեշտ է և Վրաստանի և Հայաստանի պրոռուսական դիրքորոշումը:
Հոկտեմբերի 26-ին Վրաստանում նախատեսված խորհրդարանական ընտրություններով սկսելու է հարավկովկասյան ճակատում Ռուսաստան-հավաքական արևմուտք առճակատման բացահայտ փուլը:
