Բոլիվիայում ռազմական հեղաշրջման փորձ է իրականացվել. գործողությունը գլխավորած գեներալ Խուան Խոսե Զունիգան ձերբակալվել է, ներկայում ոստիկանական բաժանմունքում է, հայտնում է Bolivia TV-ն։

Բոլիվիայի գլխավոր դատախազությունը Զունիգային մեղադրել է ահաբեկչության և զինված ապստամբության համար։ Ընդ որում, գեներալը լրագրողներին հայտնել է իրադարձությունների իր վարկածը։ Նրա խոսքով՝ ինքը հունիսի 23-ին խոսել է նախագահ Լուիս Արսեի հետ, և վերջինս խնդրել է օգնել իրեն բարձրացնել իր ժողովրդականությունը։

Արսեն նշանակել է նոր ռազմական ղեկավարություն:Հանրապետության արտաքին գործերի նախարարությունը, իր հերթին, միջազգային հանրությանը և երկրի բնակչությանը կոչ է արել հարգել ժողովրդավարական արժեքները և աջակցել սահմանադրությամբ և օրինականորեն ընտրված նախագահի կառավարությանը։

Հունիսի 26-ի կեսօրին զորամասերը շրջափակել են Լա Պասում գտնվող կառավարական պալատը։ Զրահամեքենաների օգնությամբ նրանք փորձել են կոտրել դռներն ու ներխուժել շենք։ Գեներալ Զունիգան ասել է, որ ցանկանում է «վերադարձնել հայրենիքը», ցրել ներկայիս կաբինետը և հավաքել նորը։ Նախօրեին նա ազատվել էր պաշտոնից, սակայն հրաժարվել էր հրաժարական տալ։
