Մարզաշխարհի հարգելի ներկայացուցիչներ,

1948 թվականի, ՄՕԿ-ի որոշմամբ, հունիսի 23-ը նշվում է որպես միջազգային օլիմպիական օր։ 1894թ. հենց այդ օրն է ֆրանսիացի բարոն Պիեռ դը Կուբերտենը Փարիզում հրապարակել ՄՕԿ-ի հիմնադրման մասին իր պատմական զեկույցը։ Նրա երազանքն էր` սպորտի արժեքների միջոցով մարդկությանը սովորեցնել ավելի լավ ապրել, համերաշխ աշխարհ կառուցել` սպորտը և օլիմպիզմն օգտագործելով որպես յուրատեսակ կամուրջ` խաղաղության խթանման, ժողովուրդների բարեկամության, ազգամիջյան հարաբերությունների կարգավորման համար:
Օլիմպիզմի գաղափարներն այսօր միավորում են ամենատարբեր տարիքի և սեռի միլիոնավոր մարդկանց: Դրան հերթական անգամ ականատես կլինենք մեկ ամիս հետո` Փարիզում մեկնարկելիք ամառային 33–րդ օլիմպիական խաղերի օրերին: Մեդալների համար պայքարին իրենց արժանապատիվ և պատրաստված մասնակցությունը կբերեն նաև մեր երկրի ներկայացուցիչները:

Հայաստանի ազգային օլիմպիական ընտանիքի անունից բոլոր մասնակիցներին, և առաջին հերթին, իհարկե, մեր երկրի մարզիկներին մաղթում եմ արդար մրցակցություն, արժանապատիվ պայքար և վաստակած ու պատվաբեր հաղթանակներ:
