Վաշինգտոնի Սմիթսոնյան բնական պատմության ազգային թանգարանի գիտնականները հայտնաբերել են հյուսիսամերիկյան խոշոր կաթնասունների մնացորդներ, որոնք ապրել են 50000 տարի առաջ՝ վերջին սառցե դարաշրջանի վերջում: Հետազոտության արդյունքները հրապարակվել են Frontiers in Mammal Science ամսագրում:
