Հայաստանի Սահմանադրությունը հղում է պարունակում Անկախության հռչակագրին, որտեղ ասվում է, որ Լեռնային Ղարաբաղը Հայաստանի մաս է. ինչպե՞ս կարող ենք խաղաղության պայմանագիր կնքել, եթե ՀՀ Սահմանադրության մեջ նման կետ կա. հարց է հղել Ադրբեջանի նախագահ Իլհամ Ալիևը:

«Երբ ասում եմ, որ «պետք է» (չակերտները՝ Tert.am) փոխեն իրենց Սահմանադրությունը, դա իմ կողմից մեծամտություն կամ կոպտություն չէ: Ոչ, սա նախապայման է։ Նմանապես, ես կարծում եմ, որ նրանք «պետք է» (չակերտները՝ Tert.am) փոխեն իրենց ազգային զինանշանը «Աղրիդաղ» (Արարատ-Tert.am) սարով։ Նրանք Հայաստանում շատ սարեր ունեն, եթե ուզում են, թող ընտրեն մեկ ուրիշը»,- ասել է Ալիևը:

Նա հիշեցրել է ՀՀ երրորդ նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանի մասնակցությամբ մի դրվագ, երբ վերջինիս հարցրել են.«Հիմա մենք ազատագրել ենք Արցախը, իսկ ի՞նչ կասեք Արևմտյան Հայաստանի մասին։ Ի՞նչ կասեք մեր հողերի վերաբերյալ, ե՞րբ են դրանք ազատագրվելու»։ Եվ նա (Սերժ Սարգսյանը-Tert.am) պատասխանեց.«Մենք մեր գործն արել ենք, իսկ մնացածը կախված է ձեզանից»: Ես սա չեմ հորինել, դուք կարող եք այս ասածները գնել համացանցում: Ահա թե ինչ նա ասաց, և ահա թե ինչ էին նրանք մտածում։ Սա, կարծում եմ, հայ հասարակության ամենամեծ «ողբերգությունն է» (չակերտները՝ Tert.am). որ նրանք իսկապես կարծում էին, որ կարող են անջատել Թուրքիայի այս հատվածը և միացնել Հայաստանին»։
