Ով ճանաչում է Ռուբեն Վարդանյանին, գիտի, որ նա հաճախ է խոսում դրա՝ ընտրությամբ հայ լինելու մասին․ Մանե Թանդիլյան

«Ապրելու Երկիր» կուսակցության նախագահ Մանե Թանդիլյանը ֆեյսբուքյան իր էջում գրել է․
 
«Armenian by choice»
 
Չէի լսել նման բան ու չգիտեի՝ դա ինչ է մինչև 2021թ.-ին Ռուբեն Վարդանյանի հետ ծանոթանալը։
 
Ով ճանաչում է Ռուբեն Վարդանյանին, գիտի, որ նա հաճախ է խոսում դրա՝ ընտրությամբ հայ լինելու մասին. ոչ թե որովհետև «յան» ազգանուն ես կրում, ինչպես մենք, ոչ թե որովհետև ծնվել ես Հայաստանում կամ տատդ-պապդ հայ են, այլ որովհետև ընտրել ես հայ լինելը։
 
Առաջին միտքը, որ առաջանում է՝ ինչու՞ պետք է ինչ -որ մեկը ընտրի հայ լինելը։
 
Ու այստեղ սկսում ես ճանաչել Ռուբենին։ Ու անմիջապես հասկանում ես, թե ինչու պիտի հենց իրենից առաջին անգամ լսեիր այդ միտքը, զգայիր այդ հոգեվիճակը։ Որովհետև միայն նա է կարողանում իր շրջապատի մարդկանց այնպես վարակել հայկականությամբ, որ ակամայից շատերն են ուզում հայ լինել, իրենց ընտրությամբ ցանկանում են լինել այդ մեծության մի մասնիկը, որ կոչվում է «հայ»։
 
Ահա թե ինչու են իր շրջապատում այդքան շատ տարբեր ազգության մարդիկ զգում իրենց «Armenian by choice»։
 
Այդ ինչքա՜ն խորություն և ակնածանք պետք է ունենաս «հայկականության» նկատմամբ՝ համեմված իմացությամբ և խոնարհությամբ, որ վարակես մարդկանց քո ազգությամբ, այդ ինչքա՜ն պիտի սիրես քո հայկականությունը։
 
Հետո ծանոթացա տարբեր մարդկանց հետ, որոնք իրենց համարում էին «Armenian by choice», ու նրանցից մեծ մասը այս կամ այն կերպ կապ ունեին Ռուբենի հետ։
 
Այ թե ինչու է բնական հենց նրանից լսելը «Armenian by choice»-ն ու զգալ, թե ինչպես...
 
Սա չիմացողը այդպես էլ չի իմանա, թե ինչու նա գնաց Արցախ։ Ավելի ճիշտ կիմանա, բայց չի հասկանա, հետևաբար չի հավատա։
