Երկարատև իրավական պայքարից հետո, որն սկսվել է 2017-ին, Apple-ը համաձայնել է $310-500 մլն փոխհատուցում վճարել խմբակային հայցի մասնակիցներին, որոնք ընկերությանը մեղադրում են iPhone-ի մի շարք մոդելների աշխատանքը դիտավորյալ դանդաղեցնելու մեջ, այս մասին հայտնում է The Verge-ը։

Դատական հայցը ներկայացվել էր այն բանից հետո, երբ հայտնի էր դարձել, որ Apple-ը միտումնավոր դանդաղեցրել է iPhone-ի մի քանի մոդելների աշխատանքը՝ iOS 10 օպերացիոն համակարգի թարմացման շրջանակում։

Ընկերությունը պնդում է, որ դա անհրաժեշտ էր, որպեսզի շարքից դուրս եկած մարտկոցներով հեռախոսների աշխատանքում խափանումներ տեղի չունենային և դրանք պատահաբար չանջատվեին՝ դրանից բխող բոլոր հետևանքներով: Այնուամենայնիվ, շատ օգտատերեր համարում էին որ այդ կերպ ընկերությունը միտումնավոր դանդաղեցնում էր իրենց սմարթֆոնների աշխատանքը, որպեսզի իրենք ստիպված լինեն նոր հեռախոսներ գնել։

Խոսքը վերաբերում է առաջին սերնդի iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6S, 6S Plus, 7, 7 Plus և iPhone SE-ի սեփականատերերին, որոնք մինչև 2020-ի հոկտեմբերը փոխհատուցման պահանջով դիմել էին դատարան։ Ըստ որոշ տեղեկությունների՝ տուժածների ընդհանուր թիվը կազմում է մոտ 3 միլիոն մարդ։ Նրանցից յուրաքանչյուրը կարող է ակնկալել մոտ 65 դոլար փոխհատուցում։
