Հայաստանի թիմը երկրորդ մեդալն է նվաճել Լեհաստանում ընթացող Եվրոպական ամառային երրորդ խաղերում: Կարատե մարզաձևի -68կգ քաշային կարգում Անիտա Մակյանը, հաղթելով իսպանացի Մարիա Նիետոյին և ուկրաինացի Էլինա Մելնիկին, դուրս է եկել կիսաեզրափակիչ, որտեղ, սակայն, 0-4 հաշվով զիջել է Շվեյցարիայի ներկայացուցիչ Ելենա Նորինային ու բրոնզե մեդալ նվաճել:

Կարատեի մրցումներն անցկացվել են լեհական Բելսկո-Բիալա քաղաքում: Հայ մարզուհին մրցավայր է մեկնել ՀԿԱՖ նախագահ Վազգեն Հարությունյանի և անձնական մարզիչ Արման Մակյանի գլխավորությամբ:
 
Ի դեպ, պատմության մեջ առաջին անգամ է Հայաստանը Եվրոպական խաղերում մեդալ նվաճում կարատե մարզաձևում: Անիտա Մակյանը ևս առաջին անգամ էր մասնակցում Եվրոպական խաղերին:

Եվրոպական խաղերում վստահ հաղթանակով է մեկնարկել բռնցքամարտիկ, Եվրոպայի փոխչեմպիոն Արթուր Բազեյանը: Նա 1/16 եզրափակչում 5-0 հաշվով առավելության է հասել չեխ Վլադիմիր Տրակալի նկատմամբ՝ մենամարտի ընթացքում երկու անգամ նոկդաունի ենթարկելով մրցակցին: 1/8 եզրափակչում Բազեյանի մրցակիցը կլինի Բուլղարիան ներկայացնող Խավիեր Իբանյեսը:

Մենամարտը հաղթանակով է ավարտել նաև 63,5 կգ քաշային Նարեկ Հովհաննիսյանը՝ 3-2 հաշվով առավելության հասնելով իսրայելցի բռնցքամարտիկի նկատմամբ:
 
Հայաստանի բռնցքամարտի հավաքականի գլխավոր մարզիչ Կարեն Աղամալյանի խոսքով՝ բռնցքամարտիկները լիովին պատրաստ են Օլիմպիական վարկանիշ տվող Եվրոպական խաղերին. «Արթուր Բազեյանն առաջին մենամարտում հաղթեց առանց դժվարությունների, իսկ Նարեկ Հովհաննիսյանը շատ դժվարին հաղթանակ տարավ: Նրա մրցակցին՝ իսրայելցի բռնցքամարտիկին վաղուց ենք ճանաչում: Շատ բարդ մենամարտ էր, վերջում նաև մի փոքր հոգնածություն էր նկատվում Նարեկի մոտ, քանի որ նա վաղուց խոշոր եվրոպական մրցման չի մասնակցել: Ցանկությունը մեծ էր: Հուսով եմ՝ հաջորդ մենամարտն ավելի լավ կանցնի:
 
Եվրոպական առաջնություններում թույլ մրցակիցներ չկան: Մենք բազմիցս ապացուցել ենք, որ մրցունակ ենք: Մեր տղաները պատրաստ են»։
