Ծանոթ ու միարժամանակ անհայտ … մարաթոնյան վազք

Մարաթոնյան վազքի հեռավորությունը կազմում է 42 կմ 195 մետր է: Իսկ ե՞րբ և որտե՞ղ է առաջացել այդ սպորտաձևը: Ընդունված է, որ այդ հեռավորությունը մ.թ.ա. 490 թվականին առաջինը հաղթահարել է հույն զինվոր Ֆիդիպպիդը (այլ աղբյուրներով Ֆիլլիպիդ) առանց կանգառների վազելով Մարաթոնյան մարտադաշտից  Աթենք, և հայտնել է ուրախալի լուրը, որ հույները ճակատամարտում հաղթել են և անշնչացած ընկել է: Բայց դա չի հաստատվում փաստական աղբյուրներով: Ըստ Հերոդոտի Ֆիլլիպիդը իրոք հույն սուրհանդակ-վազորդ էր, որին Աթենքից ուղարկել էին Սպարտա՝ օգնական ուժեր խնդրելու համար: 230 կմ-ը նա անօգուտ հաղթահարել է երկու օրից պակաս ժամանակում, քանի որ սպարտացիները տոնում էին ինչ-որ հոգևորական տոն և հրաժարվել են ռազմական օգնություն ցուցաբերել Աթենքին: Սուրհանդակ-վազորդը ստիպված հետ է վերադարձել Աթենք: Իսկ աթենացիները Մարաթոն դաշտում առանց սպարտացիների ջախջախել են  պարսիկներին: Հերոդոտը այս պատմությունը գրի է առել դեպքերից 6 տարի անց:  Մարաթոնից Աթենք վազքի մասին  առաջին անգամ գրել է Պլուտարքոսը մեր թվարկության առաջին դարում՝ այսինքն այդ դեպքերից 550 տարի անց: Պլուտարքոսը իհարկե շատ հերոսական է նկարագրել այդ ամենը, քանի որ դա գրված է «Փառք Աթենքին» էսսեում: Եվ հետո նա   սուրհանդակ-վազորդին կոչել է Եվկլ: Նաև կասկածելի է, որ նա  այդքան վազքից հետո շունչը փչի:

Հույն ռազմական սուրհանդակ-վազորդները առանց կանգառի վազում էին մի քանի անգամ ավելի տարածքներ և առանց առողջությանը վնաս պատճառելու: Ինչ որ է, պատմությունը այդ է: Երբ մեր նոր ժամանակներում վերականգնվել է օլիմպիական շարժումը  որոշվել է , որ անպայման պետք է լինի Մարաթոնյան վազք: Առաջին օլիմպիական խաղերը ընթացել են Աթենքում 1896 թվականին: Կազմակերպվել է Մարաթոնյան վազք Մարաթոնյան դաշտից մինչև Աթենք: Հեռավորությունը կազմել է 34,5 կմ: Ի ուրախություն հույների հաղթել է հույն , մասնագիտությամբ ջուր վաճառող Սպիրիդոն Լուիսը՝ 2 ժամ 58 րոպե 50 վայրկյան արդյունքով: Նրան չի խանգարել անգամ վազքի ընթացքում կանգառը հորեղբոր տան մոտ, որտեղ նա գինի է ըմպել: Հետագա 8 օլիմպիական խաղերին Մարաթոնյան վազքի հեռավորությունը ֆիքսված չի եղել և կազմել է 40-ից մինչև 43 կիլոմետր: Վերջնական 42 կմ 195 մետր հեռավորությունը որոշվել է 1921 թվականին Սիրողական Թեթև ատլետիկայի միջազգային ֆեդերացիայի կողմից: Վերցվել է 1908 թվականի Լոնդոնյան օլիմպիադայի Մարաթոնյան վազքի հեռավորությունը: Այն ժամանակ Լոնդոնում որոշված էր , որ վազքը պետք է լիներ 40 կմ-ի չափով տարածությամբ, բայց այդ տարածությունը երկարացվել է մինչև 42 կմ 195 մ այն պատճառով, որպեսի արքայական ընտանիքը դիտի վազքը իրենց Վինդձորյան ապարանքի պատուհաններից: Ցանկացած վազք, որը գերազանցում է մարաթոնյանին կոչվում է սուպերմարաթոնյան: 1983 թվականին Սուպերմարաթոնի ամերիկյան ասոցիացիան կազմակերպել է սուպերմարաթոն՝ Ֆիդիպպիդի երթուղով՝ Աթենքից Սպարտա, ըստ հույն պատմագիրների գրվածքների: Ի ուրախություն հույների այստեղ ևս հաղթել է հույնը՝ Յանիս Կուրոսը:
