Սերժ Սարգսյանը Հենրիխ Մխիթարյանին պարգևատրել է «Հայրենիքին մատուցած ծառայությունների համար» 1­-ին աստիճանի մեդալով

Հայաստանի ազգային հավաքականի և «Մանչեստր Յունայթեդ»-­ի կիսապաշտպան Հենրիխ Մխիթարյանը Հանրապետության տոնի առիթով ՀՀ նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանի կողմից պարգևատրվել է «Հայրենիքին մատուցած ծառայությունների համար» 1-­ին աստիճանի մեդալով: Հենրիխ Մխիթարյանը պարգևատրվել է հայկական սպորտի զարգացման գործում ունեցած ավանդի և Հայաստանն աշխարհում լավագույնս ներկայացնելու համար:

Պարգևատրման արարողությունից հետո լրագրողների հետ զրույցում Հենրիխ Մխիթարյանը նշեց, որ շատ հպարտ է նախագահի կողմից պարգևատրվելու համար, և հույս հայտնեց, որ այն խթան կհանդիսանա հետագայում ևս շարունակելու նպաստել հայկական սպորտի զարգացմանը:

Լրագրողներից մեկի հարցին՝ իր որ գոլի հետ կհամեմատի նախագահից ստացած մեդալը, Մխիթարյանը պատասխանեց՝ «Ոչ մի գոլի հետ չեմ համեմատի, դրանք անհամեմատելի են»:

Հարցին, թե ինչ է իրեն ասել Նախագահը մեդալը հանձնելիս, Մխիթարյանը պատասխանեց, որ Նախագահը շնորհակալություն է հայտնել Հայաստանն աշխարհում լավագույն կերպով ներկայացնելու համար և շնորհավորել է մեդալը ստանալու կապակցությամբ:

Մխիթարյանն անդրադարձավ նաև Եվրոպայի լիգայի եզրափակիչ խաղից հետո Հայաստանի դրոշը խաղադաշտում բարձրացնելուն: Նա ընդգծեց, որ հայկական եռագույնը բարձրացնելը յուրաքանչյուրի պարտականությունն է: «Ինձ համար միշտ պատիվ է տարբեր վայրերում բարձրացնել Հայաստանի դրոշը: Այդ գաղափարը ես վաղուց էի ցանկանում իրագործել և ի վերջո ստացվեց, քանի որ մենք կարողացանք հաղթել Եվրոպայի լիգայում»,- նշեց Մխիթարյանը:
