Հայաստանի պատմության մեջ առաջին անգամ անցկացվեց բանավեճ որին մասնակցում էին առաչադրված բոլոր ուժերի առաջնորդները: Բանավեճը անչափ հետաքրքիր ստացվեց, քանի որ վերջնականապես պարզ դարձավ բոլոր քաղաքական ուժերի իրական նպատակները և հնարավարությունները, ինչպես նաև եղան տարբեր բացահայտումներ որոնք կարող են տարբաեր քաղաքական գործիչների քաղաքականությունից հեռանալու պատճառ հանդիսանալ: Խոսքը վերաբերում է Էդմոն Մարուքյանին , ով հեղափոխության օրերին ոչ միայն չէր աջակցում, այլ նաև կոչ էր անում դադարեցնել փողոցային պայքարը և այլ ելք փնտրել: Պարզվում է Էդմոն Մարուքյանը քաղաքական գործունեություն ծավալելու համար համագործակցել է տարբեր ուժերի հետ այդ թվում և իշխանական, և բացահայտ հակադրվել իշխանությանը նա չէր կարող քանզի ուներ կասկածելի հովանավորներ որոնց դա ձեռնտու չէր լինի: Էդմոն Մարուքյանի հեղինակությունը առանց այդ ել խորը ճգնաժամի մեջ է: Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը հեռացրեց նրան իր շրջապատից ինչից կարելի է ենթադրել, որ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը ծանոթ է Մարուքյանի անցյալի մութ կողմերին և կակածելի դաշնակիցներ չի ցանկանում ունենալ: Բանավեճի ընթացքում նրա հովանավորների մասին հարցադրումը Մարուքյանին ցայտնոտի մեջ գցեց, ինչը ապացույց է, որ Մարուքյանն այնքանել անկեղծ չէ և հասարակությանը պատմելու շատ բան ունի: Ինչևէ բանավեճերը լավ հնարավություն են ուղիղ հարցեր ուղղել քաղաքական մրցակիցներին, ինչից հասարակութունը կարող է հետևություններ անել և նմանատիպ բանավեճերի անցկացում օրենքով ապահովվելը լավ գաղափար է:
