Հուլիսի 3-ին ձերբակալվեց Էդուարդ Բաբայանը, ում մեղադրանք էր առաջադրվել քաղաքացուն մարմնական վնասվածք հասցնելու համար։ Ավելի ուշ, տուժողը՝ Վյաչեսլավ Հարությունովը, տեսախցիկների առջև և դատարանում մի քանի անգամ հայտարարեց, որ ծեծի չի ենթարկվել և Բաբայանի նկատմամբ բողոք կամ պահանջ չունի։ Ավելի ուշ, Ազգային Ժողովի պատգամավորներն անձնական երաշխավորությամբ էին հանդես եկել, սակայն դատարանն անկախ վերոնշյալ հանգամանքների՝ մերժեց միջնորդությունը, որը հետագայում վերահաստատեց նաև Վերաքննիչ դատարանը։

-Մինչ այս պահը մեր կուսակցությունը, քաղաքական թիմը զերծ է մնացել աղմկահարույց գնահատականներ հնչեցնելուց։ Չենք ուզում հավատալ, որ Նոր Հայաստանում անարդարությունը տեղ ունի։ Անշուշտ, լինելու ենք հետևողական։ «Տվյալ դեպքում արդարության հաղթանակը կարևոր է բոլորի համար և շարունակում է գտնվել հասարակության ուշադրության կենտրոնում»,- հավելեց Վահե Էնֆիաջյանը։
