Տղամարդու արձագանքը կնոջ մահից հետո կցնցի յուրաքանչյուրին

Նա 92 տարեկան էր: Խնամված, կարճ կտրած մազերով, գեղեցկադեմ ծերունին ստիպված էր լքել իր տունն ու գնալ ծերանոց, երբ նրա 70-ամյա կինը մահացավ:
Նա մի քանի ժամ սպասում էր նախասրահում, իսկ երբ ասացին, որ սենյակը պատրաստ է, մեղմորեն ժպտաց:
Երբ ծերունին դանդաղ քայլում էր դեպի վերելակը՝ հենվելով ձեռնափայտին, հաստատության աշխատողը նրա համար նկարագրում էր սենյակը, որում նա այդուհետ պետք է ապրեր:

– Այն ինձ շատ է դուր գալիս,- ասաց տղամարդը 8-ամյա տղայի էնտուզիազմով, որին հենց նոր շնիկ են նվիրել:
– Պրն Թոդ, բայց Դուք այն դեռ նույնիսկ չեք տեսել: Մի քիչ սպասեք, մենք շուտով կգանք:
– Դա ի՞նչ նշանակություն ունի:- Պատասխանեց ծերունին:- Երջանկությունն այն է, ինչ ես ընտրում եմ նախօրոք: Սենյակն ինձ դուր կգա, թե ոչ՝ կախված է ոչ թե կահույքից կամ դեկորից, այլ թե ես այն ինչ լույսի ներքո եմ ուզում տեսնել:

Ես արդեն ինձ համար որոշել եմ, որ այն ինձ դուր կգա: Եվ այդպիսի որոշումներ ես ընդունում եմ ամեն առավոտ արթնանալուց հետո:
Ես կարող եմ ընտրել: Կարող եմ ողջ օրն անկողնում անցկացնել՝ բողոքելով հիվանդություններից և թուլությունից, կամ կարող եմ կանգնել ու երկնքին շորհակալություն հայտնել, որ ողջ եմ և կարող եմ տեսնել, լսել, զգալ…
Ամեն օրը նվեր է, և քանի դեռ իմ շնչառությունը կանգ չառնի, ես ուրախությամբ կդիմավորեմ նոր օրը և բոլոր երջանիկ հիշողությունները, որոնք կուտակել եմ կյանքիս ընթացքում:
Ծերությունը բանկային հաշվի պես է: Դուք հետագայում դրանից հանում եք ամենը, ինչ տվել եք պահելու ձեր ճանապարհի սկզբում: Ուստի իմ խորհուրդը ձեզ՝ ձեր հիշողությունների բանկային հաշվի վրա կուտակեք միայն երջանիկ պահերը:
