Հիվանդ տղայի ծննդյան տոնին հրավիրված հյուրերից ոչ-ոք չներկայացավ. ահա թե ինչ քայլի դիմեց տղայի տատիկը, որն իրար խառնեց ամբողջ համացանցը (Ֆոտոշարք)

Բոլորը՝ հատկապես երեխաները, անհամբերությամբ են սպասում իրենց ծննդյան տոնին: Սակայն երբեմն պատահում է այնպես, որ ոչ ոք չի ցանկանում մասնակցել կազմակերպված երեկույթին: Նման անհարմար իրավիճակ ստեղծվեց 9-ամյա Ջերալդ Համիլթոնի մոտ:

Տեսնելով սեղանի շուրջ միայնակ նստած տղային՝ տատիկը հասկանում է, որ պետք է ինչ-որ մի բան անել: Կինը որոշում է իր էջում անել հետևյալ գրառումը. «Չեմ կարող չկիսվել իմ մտահոգությամբ: Իմ 9-ամյա թոռնիկը հիվանդ է ու արդեն 5 վիրհատություն է տարել: Մենք նրա 40 դասընկերներին ծննդյան երեկոյի հրավեր էինք ուղարկել, ու միայն 12-ը խոստացան մասնակցել դրան»:

Արդեն ժամը 5-ն էր,իսկ տղան միայնակ նստած էր՝ հավատալով, որ ընկերները կգան: Կինը զանգում է երեխաների ծնողներին, որոնցից մեկն ասում է, որ իր որդին չի ցանկանում խաղալ Ջերալդի հետ, քանի որ նա արտասովոր երեխա է:

Կինը հերթական գրառումն է անում. «Ի՜նչ սարսափելի է: Այսօր իմ թոռնիկի ծնունդն է, իսկ նա անգամ ընկերներ չունի, որպեսի նրան բառերով շնորհավորեն»: Ընդամենը րոպեներ անց գրառման տակ տղային սկսում են հազարավոր մարդիկ շնորհավորել, իսկ օրեր անց անձամբ քաղաքապետը հրավիրում է տղային իր մոտ ու բոլորի ներկայությամբ նվերներ շնորհում:
