22-ամյա սնոուբորդիստ Բրեննա Հուքաբին ԱՄՆ Պարաօլիմպիական խաղերի հավաքականի անդամ է‚ ովքեր Փհենչհանում մասնակցում են հիմնական Օլիմպիադային: Նա դարձել է առաջին աղջիկը‚ ով բիկինիով առանց ոտքի դարձել է ամսագրի շապիկի հերոսուհի: Աղջիկն իր նկատմամբ խիղճ չի առաջացնում‚ հակառակը‚ միայն հիացում և երախտագիտություն այն ոգեշնչման համար‚ որը նա տալիս է նույնիսկ լիովին առողջ մարդկանց: Այս մասին գրում է Life.ru-ն:

Բրիեննան 14 տարեկան էր‚ երբ ստացավ ոսկրի քաղցկեղի ախտորոշում: Բարդությունների պատճառով‚ որպեսզի քաղցկեղը չսկսի տարածվել ողջ օրգանիզմով‚ բժիշկները ստիպված էին անդամահատել նրան՝ աջ ոտքը կտրելով: Չնայած հաշմանդամություն ունենալուն՝ նա 2010 թվականի այդ օրը համարում է իր վերածննդի օրը:

«Դա իմ անձնական տոնն է: Այս օրը ես վերադարձրի իմ կյանքը: Ես նոր կիրք ստացա: Ես կյանքի նոր հեռանկար ստացա: Ես դարձա նոր և բարելավված մարդ»‚- ասում է նա:
