«Ինչպես հայտնի է, վերջերս Արգենտինայի ֆուտբոլի հավաքականը հրաժարվեց ընկերական հանդիպում ունենալ Ադրբեջանի հավաքականի հետ: Պարզվում է՝ այդ հրաժարումը պարտադրել է Լեոնել Մեսսին:

Իսկ գիտե՞ք ինչու:

Բանն այն է, որ Լեոն վերջերս իմացել է իր հայկական արմատների մասին:
Ինչպես պարզել են հարավկորեական «Կենսագրությունների ինստիտուտի» (կորերեն` 전기 연구소 հնչում է jeongi yeonguso) աշխատակիցները` ուսումնասիրելով արգենտինական արխիվները, Լեո Մեսսին Կիլիկիայի վերջին` Լևոն 6-րդ թագավորի ուղղակի ժառանգորդներից է:

Լևոն 6-րդը մահացել է 1393 թվականին: Նրա թոռան թոռը` արդեն ոչ թե Լուսինյան այլ Մեսրոպյան ազգանունը կրող Լևոնը, հետագայում հաստատվում է Իտալիայում: Սկզբնապես տոհմում տղաներին կոչում էին կամ Լևոն (կրճատ` Լեո), կամ Անդրանիկ (կրճատ Անջելո), կամ Գևորգ (իտալերեն Ջորջիո, իսպաներեն՝ Խորխե):

Բնականաբար, Մեսրոպյան ազգանունը իտալերենով արտասանելու դժվարությունների պատճառով կրճատվում և դառնում է Մեսի: Հետագայում` հերթական տղա երեխայի ծննդյան վկայականում մունիցիպալիտետի աշխատակիցը ավելացնում է ևս մի ս և տոհմի ազգանունը դառնում է Մեսսի: Ահա այդ զարմից՝ Լևոն Մեսրոպյան-Մեսսիի թոռան թոռ Անջելո (Անդրանիկ) Մեսսին էլ, որ արկածների սիրահար էր, հասնում է Արգենտինա, որտեղ և հաստատվում է:

Հետագայում, ըստ կենսագիրների, հենց այս Անջելո (Անդրանիկ) Մեսսիի զարմն է հիմնում ներկայիս Սանտա Ֆե նահանգի Ռոսարիո քաղաքը, որտեղ և հետագայում ծնվում են նրանց սերունդները, այդ թվում լեգենդար ֆուտբոլիստը:

Ինչպես ասացինք տոհմի տղաներին կոչում էին կամ Լևոն (իսպաներեն՝ Լեո կամ Լեոնել), կամ Անդրանիկ (իտալերեն Անջելո, իսկ իսպաներեն՝ Անդրես), կամ Գևորգ (իտալերեն Ջորջիո, իսպաներեն՝ Խորխե): Եվ երբ Խորխե (Գևորգ) Մեսսիի ընտանիքում ծնվում է հերթական տղան, նրան կոչում են տոհմական երկու անուններով՝ Լեոնել Անդրես (Լևոն Անդրանիկ) Մեսսի:

Ահա, իր կենսագրության և տոհմածառի այս բացահայտումն է պատճառը, որ Լեո Մեսսին հրաժարվում է մեկնել Ադրբեջան, և թիմն աջակցում է նրան»:
