Գիտնականները հայտնաբերել են իմունային պատասխանի հիմնական բաղադրիչ, որն օգնում է բացատրել, թե ինչու են քաղցկեղ ունեցող որոշ պացիենտներ արդյունավետորեն արձագանքում իմունաթերապիային, մինչդեռ մյուսները՝ ոչ։

Nature Medicine ամսագրում հրապարակված հետազոտությունը պարզել է, որ հակամարմիններ արտադրող իմունային բջիջները, որոնք հայտնի են որպես IgG1 պլազմային բջիջներ, կարեւոր դեր են խաղում այն ​​բանում, թե որքան լավ են պացիենտներն արձագանքում PD1 վերահսկիչ կետերի ինհիբիտորներով իմունաթերապիային, որն այսօր քաղցկեղի բուժման ամենակարեւոր ռազմավարություններից մեկն է։

Ավելի վաղ ենթադրվում էր, որ PD-1 թերապիան գործում է հիմնականում T-լիմֆոցիտների միջոցով, բայց նոր հետազոտությունը ցույց է տալիս, որ IgG1 պլազմային բջիջները, որոնք արտադրում են հատուկ հակամարմիններ, նույնպես կարեւոր դեր են խաղում՝ համակարգելով ավելի արդյունավետ եւ ուռուցքին հատուկ իմունային պատասխանը։

Հետազոտության շրջանակում գիտնականները վերլուծել են լյարդի քաղցկեղ ունեցող 38 պացիենտների ուռուցքի եւ արյան նմուշները, որոնք վիրահատությունից առաջ ստացել են PD-1 թերապիա։ Պացիենտները համարվում էին արձագանքողներ, եթե նրանց ուռուցքային հյուսվածքի կեսից ավելին ոչնչացվել է թերապիայի կողմից։ Բուժմանը լավ արձագանքածները զգալիորեն ավելի շատ IgG1 պլազմային բջիջներ ունեին ուռուցքներում եւ ավշային հանգույցներում, եւ այդ բջիջները ցուցաբերում էին կլոնիկ ընդլայնում, որը որոշակի ուռուցքային թիրախների նկատմամբ ակտիվ արձագանքի նշան էր։

Հետազոտության հեղինակները կարծում են, որ հակամարմիններ արտադրող պլազմային բջիջները կարող են ծառայել որպես իմունաթերապիայի նկատմամբ արձագանքի բիոմարկերներ, եւ որ դրանց ակտիվության մանիպուլյացիան կարող է օգնել բարելավել բուժման արդյունավետությունն ավելի մեծ թվով պացիենտների մոտ։
