Meta-ն ներդրում է անում արևային էներգիայի ոլորտում

Տեխնոլոգիական հսկա Meta ընկերությունը կնքել է երեք նոր պայմանագիր՝ ընդհանուր գրեթե 1 գիգավատտ արևային էներգիա գնելու համար։ Նպատակը՝ բավարարել աճող էլեկտրաէներգիայի պահանջարկը, որը պայմանավորված է արհեստական բանականության (AI) տվյալների կենտրոնների արագ ընդլայնմամբ։

Այս գործարքներից հետո 2025 թվականին Meta-ի արևային էներգիայի ընդհանուր պորտֆելը կհասնի 3 գիգավատտի, ինչը ընկերության համար ռեկորդային ցուցանիշ է։ Երկու նոր նախագիծ կիրականացվի Լուիզիանայում՝ ընդհանուր 385 մեգավատտ հզորությամբ, որոնք նախատեսվում է ավարտել մինչև 2027 թվականը։ Երրորդ պայմանագիրը վերաբերում է 600 մեգավատտ արևային կայանի էներգիայի գնմանը՝ Տեխասի Լաբոք քաղաքին մոտ գտնվող տարածքից։

Թեև այս էլեկտրակայանը ուղղակիորեն չի միանալու Meta-ի տվյալների կենտրոններին, այն կփոխհատուցի դրանց էներգասպառումը տեղական էներգացանցի միջոցով։

Բացի այդ, Լուիզիանայի համար Meta-ն ձեռք է բերել վերականգնվող էներգիայի հավաստագրեր (EACs), որոնք թույլ են տալիս ընկերություններին պաշտոնապես հաշվարկել իրենց ածխածնի արտանետումների նվազեցումը։ Փորձագետները, սակայն, նշում են, որ նման մեխանիզմները միշտ չէ, որ արտացոլում են իրական էկոլոգիական արդյունքը, հատկապես այն պայմաններում, երբ AI-ի ոլորտի բուռն զարգացումը բազմապատկում է էներգասպառումը։
