ԱՄՆ նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփը Ուկրաինայի նախագահ Վոլոդիմիր Զելենսկուն հասկացրել է, որ չի նախատեսում Ուկրաինային տրամադրել Tomahawk հեռահար հրթիռներ, քանի որ առաջնորդները տարաձայնություններ են ունեցել Ուկրաինայում պատերազմի ապագայի վերաբերյալ: Ինչպես հաղորդում է CNN-ը, իրավիճակին ծանոթ մի քանի աղբյուրներ զրույցը բնութագրել են որպես լարված, անկեղծ և երբեմն «տհաճ»:

«Ուղիղ և ազնիվ զրույցի ընթացքում Թրամփը Զելենսկուն հասկացրեց, որ այս պահին Ուկրաինայի առաջնորդը չի ստանա այն հեռահար հրթիռները, որոնց նա ձգտում է։ Պաշտոնյաներից մեկը հայտարարել է, որ Թրամփի մոտ տպավորություն է ստեղծվել, որ Ուկրաինան ձգտում է էսկալացիայի և հակամարտության ձգձգման, և նա մտահոգված է առաջիկա դաժան ձմռան ընթացքում հնարավոր կորուստներով», - հայտնել է պարբերականը։
